The seaside city comes alive with four fantastic festivals taking place in one month of madness.
Brighton and Hove hosts thousands of events in May as four major festivals take over the city for the majority of the month: Brighton Festival, Brighton Fringe, The Great Escape and Artists Open Houses.
Brighton Festival sits at the centre of the city's festival season; this near month-long event runs between 4-26 May and showcases exciting new theatre, arts and music projects from the local area. Meanwhile, Brighton Fringe (3 May - 2 June) is the eccentric and eclectic sibling of the main festival, featuring comedy, cabaret, theatre and the downright bizarre!
Artists Open Houses (4-26 May) sees artists literally opening up their homes to the public to showcase their work, while The Great Escape Festival (9-11 May) has been showcasing the next big thing in contemporary rock, pop and indie music for the past ten years. Past acts have included Adele, George Ezra and Royal Blood.
