Explore an elegant district filled with Georgian architecture and a maze of boutiques, restaurants and cafes close to Clifton Suspension Bridge.
Bristol’s defining symbol, the Clifton Suspension Bridge, is a must-see. If you’re making the journey there then allow some time to visit classy Clifton Village. Georgian and Regency architecture make up much of this area – in fact Clifton has more Georgian buildings than the whole of Bath.
Take a stroll around the independent clothes, antiques and jewellery boutiques that line picturesque avenues – the vibe feels far-removed from a city. Pop into Clifton Arcade - near beautiful Victoria Square - a stunningly restored two-storey Victorian arcade housing a wide selection of vintage shops, interior design and furniture stores.
Refuel at one of many cafes and restaurants – here you’ll find the lovely, relaxing Lido and the Avon Gorge Hotel with some of the best views in Bristol. Kick back in one of Clifton’s parks, or head to the great expanse of the nearby Downs for the ultimate, elegant urban chill.
