Discover a collection of historical artifacts that celebrate the maritime history of the UK’s first seaside resort at the Scarborough Maritime Heritage Centre.
The ‘museum of the sea’ is run by a dedicated team of volunteers, ex-mariners and fishermen, all who provide a fascinating insight into fishing, boat building and seafaring, as well as the development of Scarborough as UK’s first seaside resort.
There is an extensive collection of historical documents, photographs and artefacts accessible to all, regular exhibitions and talks given by passionate volunteers - there isn’t much they don’t know about the town’s amazing heritage.
