Visit the Trentham Estate in Stoke-on-Trent and discover one of Capability Brown’s most celebrated gardens, with plenty of fun and games to be had.
The Trentham Estate – for years the playground of one of England’s most prosperous dynasties – is now one of England’s top heritage attractions thanks to its fantastic gardens.
With the historic house in the background, the famous Italian Gardens were designed within the framework of Sir Charles Barry’s original Italianate Garden of the 19th century. Then at the centre of the estate is the mile-long Trentham Lake designed by Capability brown.
Get naked from the knees down and take the UK’s first barefoot walk. Play hide and seek in the maze, swing into action in the adventure playground, take a trip on the catamaran or miniature train and search for fairies on the lakeside walk.
Round the day off experiencing distinctively different shopping in the Shopping Village and walking amongst 140 Barbary macaques at Trentham Monkey Forest.
