Take in the best of north Nottinghamshire on this 20-mile cycle route, which explores the extensive area covered by Sherwood Forest.
The Ancient Sherwood route starts at Sherwood Forest Art and Craft Centre and takes you on a journey through Sherwood Forest National Nature Reserve, through beautiful woodland and on to Clumber Park, a beautiful estate owned by the National Trust, and returns on a circular route.
This flat and easy to follow route makes for an easy day of cycling, and is designed to incorporate refreshment stops along the way at some of Nottinghamshire's top attractions.
Stop off in the pretty village of Edwinstowe and visit St Mary's Church, where Robin said 'I do' to Maid Marian, and while here refresh yourself with a delicious pub lunch in the wooden-beamed dining room of Forest Lodge Hotel.
In the evening, rest and relax at one of the luxury cabins, B&Bs or hotels located near Sherwood Forest, for the ultimate cycling holiday in Robin Hood country.
