Fly back in time and visit the country’s only museum that tells the story of army aviation.
Set on the edge of Salisbury Plain lies the Museum of Army Flying at Middle Wallop, where you can go to be inspired by aviation heroes.
Everyone’s seen the Red Arrows but here’s your chance to be a flying ace; feel the excitement from the flight deck of the Red Arrow simulator, try your hand piloting a Hamilcar glider or compete with your children on the virtual rifle range.
The museum is reputedly haunted by the ghosts of three men killed after a hanger explosion during a war time air raid. This is just one of many interesting stories the museum has to tell.
Relax from all that excitement in the Apache Café and watch Army Air Corps trainee pilots practice their skills on the impressive Apache and Lynx helicopters, just as their wartime heroes did.
