Rainy Day Activities: Find out what lies beneath Exeter

Exeter, Devon

Escape the rain to explore Exeter’s Underground Passages and the Royal Albert Memorial Museum - ideal indoor attractions for a drizzly day.

Exeter’s Underground Passages date back to the 14th century and were originally vaulted passages used to repair water pipes. Those on a family holiday and looking for unusual places to go with kids can explore this ancient monument by taking a walk directly under Exeter's High Street and on into the heart of the city.

Then head above ground to visit the Exeter Royal Albert Memorial Museum and see one of England’s largest Natural History collections, where you can learn about botany, archaeology, geology and fine art.
