When visiting the seaside town of Hornsea make sure you visit the Museum set in an 18th Century farmhouse and home to a wonderful collection of the famous Hornsea Pottery. You can also learn about the town’s interesting smuggling past. Relax in cosy tea rooms with a cuppa and some irresistible homemade cake or take a stroll through the town centre.
Hornsea Mere is the largest fresh water lake in Yorkshire home to large numbers of overwintering wildfowl and roosting gulls plus resident breeding species in spring and summer. Such rarities as black tern, bittern and Slavonian grebe can be spotted here. And of course no trip to the seaside is complete without a stroll down the seafront.
