Step onto the set of 'Wolf Hall' on a visit to Great Chalfield Manor, and take in the romance of the medieval house.
Great Chalfield Manor is under the care of the National Trust and is located near to Melksham, in the west of Wiltshire.
The medieval Manor House sits in beautiful countryside and is surrounded by romantic gardens with ponds, terraces and some fantastic views. A small parish church sits beside the Manor House; visitors are welcome to visit this by donation.
Great Chalfield Manor has been used as a filming location, most recently it’s starred in the BBC’s Wolf Hall, where the Manor stood in for Austin Friars, Thomas Cromwell’s home. It has also just been used as a filming location for the second season of Poldark.
