Blast off to the National Space Centre

Leicester, Leicestershire

From astronauts to rocket towers, satellites and meteorites, there is plenty of space to explore at this fun, family-friendly attraction.

Immediately identifiable by its domed rocket tower, the National Space Centre in Leicester is sure to spark your family's imagination. Packed with artifacts from space and interactive exhibits, including amazing real-life rockets and the largest planetarium dome in the UK, the centre offers a fun and educational day out for the entire family.

Take a trip through Tranquillity Base and your little ones will become trainee astronauts, tasked with completing a variety of interactive modules, like loading a shuttle with the correct balance of supplies and controlling a jet booster in a zero-g atmosphere.

Elsewhere, you'll be able to see authentic spacesuits and rock samples brought back from the moon by the Apollo crews. All tickets include a free showing in the Sir Patrick Moore Planetarium too, allowing you to kick back and enjoy immersive views of the night sky or insightful looks into our universe.
