Homesick Romans once planted vines in Somerset, and it’s an ancient tradition that continues at Quoins – one of only nine organic vineyards in Britain.

Buoyed by trips to Africa and South America, expert Alan Chubb planted the vineyard in 2002 – discovering a gorgeous Roman mosaic in the process; now Quoins is home to four delicious varieties that feature among England’s best.

Tucked away on the edge of the Cotswolds, getting to Quoins is an experience in itself – and when the journey’s over you can join a tour of the vineyard, with talks on organic production and biodiversity, and buy one of Quoins' 3000 yearly bottles at market price.
