Enjoy an organic tipple among the vines of an English country gem.

Homesick Romans once planted vines in Somerset, and it’s an ancient tradition that continues at Quoins Organic Vineyard – one of only eighteen organic vineyards in Britain today.

Buoyed by trips to Africa and South America, expert Alan Chubb planted the vineyard in 2002, discovering a gorgeous Roman mosaic in the process. Now, Quoins is home to four delicious varieties that feature among England’s best.

Tucked away on the edge of the Cotswolds, getting to Quoins is an experience in itself, and when the journey’s over you can join a tour of the vineyard, with talks on organic production and biodiversity. Make sure you buy one of Quoins' finest wines too; they only make 3000 a year, so it'll be extra special! Take it steady, though, you've got to make it home, remember…
