Everyone’s heard of the Grand National; even if you’re not a horseracing fan, you can’t ignore the buzz that surrounds the world’s most famous horse race every year.
Turn up for the Grand Opening on Thursday or swan along to Ladies Day on Friday, a renowned gathering of the stylish, iconic and colourful (and that’s just the headwear). Music, racing and entertainment are all part of the build-up to the main event on Saturday - the famous steeplechase itself.
With 40 horses and jockeys covering two circuits of Aintree’s track and tackling obstacles like the famous Chair or Becher’s Brook, there’s only one thing to do - place your bet and join in the roar of the 154,000 strong crowd.
The Grand National 2019 takes place at Aintree Racecourse between 4-6 April.
