Enjoy home comforts at Abbey Guest House

Abingdon-on-Thames

Located in the historic market town of Abingdon-on-Thames, Abbey Guest House is the perfect base for exploring Oxford, as well as the charming sights of the town itself, including medieval architecture and riverside gardens and pubs.

The rooms

Seven en-suite bedrooms make up this award-winning guesthouse, with an easy-access twin room on the ground floor (complete with ceiling hoist) and a large lift-accessible room for up to six people on the first floor – perfect if you’ve got the kids with you.

Both of the accessible rooms have been adapted to make your stay as comfortable as possible, with electric adjustable single beds, lowered light switches and full-length mirrors, and the option to add or remove any furniture depending on what you require.

In the wet rooms, you’ll find non-slip flooring, grab bars and shower chairs are available on request.

Allergy sufferers will also love the bedroom with hardwood floors and fully washable fixtures and furnishings – no late-night sneezing here!

Other features

Abbey Guest House also has a number of aids on hand, including a vibrating and strobe alarm, a portable hearing loop, bed rails and accessible cutlery. Assistance dogs are more than welcome to stay and have access to the fenced-in garden.

You have the option to arrange personal assistance in advance and once you've arrived, you'll have access to private parking, free WiFi and secure cycle and scooter storage, with external power sockets for charging scooters. Meals are no problem either, with plenty of special dietary needs catered for.
