Get into the Christmas spirit with a trip to Grassington Dickensian Festival where you'll find stalls, entertainment, local food and crafts.
For two weekends in the run up to Christmas, the lovely cobbled streets of Grassington transform into a bygone era. Stall holders and shopkeepers (selling an array of traditional local country crafts, food and goodies) dress in Victorian costumes, and musicians, dancers and street entertainers add to the fun.
There will be theatrical Victorian re-enactments, magicians, brass bands, Punch and Judy shows and even a Santa procession.
When you need a break, clustered around the square are delightful cafes and pubs such as the Grassington House Hotel. Here you will find great food made from locally sourced ingredients, including from their small holding at the top of the village. They also make their own Christmas cakes and puddings packed with dried fruit steeped in lashings of barley wine and brandy.
