With locally-sourced food and an impressive wine list, book in for dinner at one of Liverpool’s star restaurants.
A locally-sourced international menu might sound like a contradiction in terms, but it's one that the London Carriage Works carries off with stylish aplomb.
Located in the Hope Street Hotel, which dates to the 1860s, many features of the original coach and carriage building are intact, including the sign above the door.
It’s the foodie credentials that really impress though: most of the food is supplied by local, family-run businesses from in and around the north-west. Even the wine list is an education in artisan produce – be sure to wash down the food with a glass of the Carmenere or Viognier instead of the usual Chardonnay.
