See the Craven Dunnill factory in operation and create your own tile during school holidays.
Then head to Enginuity science and technology museum and find out how a little ingenuity will empower you to pull a 10-ton locomotive or generate electricity. You can even have a go at building an earthquake-proof tower or challenge the robotic arm. The hands-on activities and design-and-make workshops will keep the family busy whatever the weather.
You can complete your historical day with a stay at the Best Western Valley Hotel, which is the former home of the Maws family – the tile manufacturers who started a global industry from.
