Discover Suffolk’s Towers and Spires on a free cycling tour

Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk

Spend a cycling holiday in the Suffolk’s unspoilt countryside. You won’t travel far without seeing a soaring tower or spire of an ancient church.

The ‘Towers and Spires’ cycle trail will take you from the majestic St Edmundsbury Cathedral, at the heart of historic Bury St Edmunds, into open country where you will pedal up hills and freewheel into wooded valleys.

Lofty towers, built with the flint so characteristic of East Anglia – some with spires atop them – will spur you on your cycle touring. Take time to step inside churches en route and you will be rewarded by spectacular angel roofs, exquisite carving and dazzling stained glass.

Take the shorter option for a more relaxed ride. Go at your own pace and make it a truly memorable activity holiday.
