Join the annual Leicester Caribbean Carnival in August with a parade around the city, culminating in an event in Victoria Park.

Plan a city break to Leicester in August and check out the Caribbean Carnival. It’s a hugely popular event celebrating the diversity of the city and keeping the cultural traditions of the Caribbean alive.

Held on the first weekend in August, it is one of the largest multicultural events in the East Midlands with an estimated 20,000 people in attendence and offers something for the entire family with a safe, vibrant and buzzing atmosphere.

Celebrations begin with the official opening ceremony in Victoria Park followed by the eye catching street carnival, featuring various troupes and floats displaying magnificent costumes.
