Looking for a relaxing picnic spot to watch the world go by? Head to the former Victorian golf course at St Helen’s Duver.
With spectacular views across Bembridge Harbour and The Solent, there are also loads of interesting areas for you to explore with coastal woods, sand dunes and a pebble beach nearby. The main grassy area contains picnic benches for you to sit down and enjoy your spread, whilst the surrounding trees provide some excellent shelter from the sun on the hotter days.
The Duver has two striking landmarks; a ruined church which was destroyed by a wave in the 18th century and out to sea one of the Solent Forts which can amazingly be reached on foot during one of the summer’s very low tides. If you are here in August you can join the many people who do just that.
When you are finished for the afternoon you are perfectly placed to wander up the coast in either direction to Priory Bay Beach or Bembridge Harbour
