Handlebar moustaches and sepia filters at the ready… Eroica Britannia returns in June for a weekend of vintage road racing and retro recreation.
The ‘World’s Most Handsome Bike Ride’ sees cyclists on sleek pre-1987 road racing bikes whizz past the dramatic scenery of the Peak District National Park, including the splendid grounds of Chatsworth House.
The race departs in the early hours of June 21, with stop-off points at six villages tucked away in the National Park, each with a feast stop brimming with local food and drink.
Back in Bakewell, there’s a weekend-long festival dedicated to all things vintage. Sift through retro fashions at The British Bazaar, do your best Lindy Hop to live music and feast on the best of British food courtesy of the award-winning food vendors.
Whilst in the Peak District for this event in June, you can also stop off at The Old Original Bakewell Pudding Shop for a taste of their world-famous puds or step into your own fairytale at the enchantingly beautiful Haddon Hall, near Chatsworth.
