Pencil in a cultural weekend break in Scarborough, and watch three Alan Ayckbourn plays in one day at the Stephen Joseph Theatre.
This iconic Art Deco Grade II former Odeon cinema with its theatre-in-the-round and McCarthy auditorium is renowned for world premieres of Alan Ayckbourn’s 75 plays before transferring to London’s West end and Broadway, and this autumn will bring three shows from this world renowned playwright to the stage, all of which you can see in one day between 17 September - 1 October.
Enjoy ‘The Karaoke Theatre Company’ offering live theatre with a strong emphasis on the ‘live’-a fast-moving concoction of farce, comedy, drama and melodrama; the revival of Ayckbourn’s classic award winning comedy ‘Henceforward’ which was first produced in Scarborough in 1987, and ‘Consuming Passions’, which tells the tale of a woman who believes she has foreseen the future.
