Cheer on the Tour of Britain in Bristol

Watch the world’s top cyclists pedal their hearts out in Bristol’s iconic locations this autumn.

If you’re a fan of cycling, put September in Bristol in your diary. The UK’s first cycling city, Bristol, is one of Europe’s most bike-friendly destinations and this year, the city is to host the penultimate stage of 2016’s Tour of Britain, British Cycling's premier road cycling event.

Starting in Glasgow on 4th September, the tour will make its way through the Lake District, Wales and Bath before Stage 7’s challenging individual time trial and circuit race split stage in Bristol on 10th September. Bristol will welcome the world’s top riders to pedal their hearts out in some of the city’s most iconic locations.

Riders will cycle against the clock from the start/finish line on The Downs, across Clifton Suspension Bridge, through Ashton Court Estate and the Harbourside before testing their mettle on the demanding Bridge Valley Road. The Tour is sure to leave you itching to get on your bike and follow in their wheel tread. This major national sporting event only reinforces Bristol’s 2017 title as the UK’s European City of Sport.
