2015 is a year of big anniversaries in Nottinghamshire, from a gorgeous theatre to one of the oldest football clubs in the country.
2015 is a special year for heritage, as Nottinghamshire celebrates the major anniversaries of some of its most loved assets.
The Theatre Royal in Nottingham, one of the most beautiful Victorian theatres in Britain, celebrates its 150th birthday, as does Nottingham Forest Football Club. Both venues offer behind the scenes tours, and there are special events planned to celebrate. It is also 150 years since William Booth founded the Salvation Army. Visit his birthplace museum in Nottingham and a number of other locations which inspired his charitable work.
Hodsock Priory in north Nottinghamshire, renowned for its snowdrops and bluebells displays, celebrates 250 years as the Buchanan family home, and Browns B&B nearby will blow-out 25 candles on its birthday cake.
