Did you know garlic is not just useful for scaring off vampires, but can also be used to make beer and popcorn? Find out how at the Garlic Festival.
Set against the beautiful backdrop of the Isle of Wight countryside, the Garlic Festival is one of the top food shows of the summer. Taking place in August, it attracts thousands of visitors and locals each year, and has earned rave reviews in the process.
The centrepiece of the festival is the locally grown garlic, and the amazing range of garlic products for which it is used. Try garlic beer, or check out one of the many cooking demonstrations going on that sometimes feature celebrity chefs.
The weekend also features a whole host of entertainment with music, animals, games and 100's of arts and crafts stalls, alongside some of the other, non-garlic local produce the Isle of Wight has to offer.
In addition to a diverse line-up of entertainment there are traditional fun fair rides and a bouncy castle for kids. You can even try your hand at circus skills.
