There is a reason why some of the world’s best surfers live in North Devon - the surfing is simply incredible.

Whether you are searching for the biggest breakers or want to catch your first wave, the Surf Coast has something for everyone. Facing the Atlantic on England’s south west peninsula, North Devon receives unbroken waves across thousands of miles of ocean.

Beaches like Woolacombe, the top UK beach on TripAdvisor, get excellent surf, and Westward Ho! and Saunton Sands are great for beginners.

With surf schools ready to get you started, getting into the waves couldn’t be easier. And the surf scene doesn’t stop at the beach. Grab a glass and a bite at excellent cafes, bars and restaurants all along the coast.

Barnstaple is the nearest train station with connections from Exeter. London to Exeter is just over 2 hours. There is a bus service along the coast.
