Catch cultural gems on a Preston city break

Preston, Lancashire

The city of Preston has evolved from its industrial roots into a modern and vibrant city buzzing with cultural gems, high street shopping and lively events.

Just outside the city hub you’ll find everything from country house hotels and a steam railway to award winning nature reserves and stately homes. Right in the city centre the magnificent Harris Museum and Gallery has been inspiring visitors since 1893 with works of art, sculpture and history.

November sees the 300 year anniversary of the Battle of Preston, the last battle fought on English soil, and there will be a number of events and exhibition planned to mark the occasion.  As the evening draws in, head to the Preston Guild Hall for a variety of theatre, comedy and family entertainment alongside a variety of places to dine.
