British Airways i360 is an observation attraction on Brighton seafront which was conceived and designed by Marks Barfield Architects, creators of the London Eye.
Visitors board a giant glass pod and glide up to 450ft for panoramic views across Brighton, the South Downs and the beautiful Sussex coastline. The attraction stands on the site of the old West Pier and two reconstructed toll booths now house the ticket office and tea room. British Airways sponsors the attraction and staff wear BA uniforms, tickets are ‘boarding passes’ and the experience is called a ‘flight’. This bold landmark has boosted the local economy, created jobs and, thanks to a funding partnership with the city council, is supporting the regeneration of Brighton seafront.
