Go back to the 1930s in Nottinghamshire

Worksop, Nottinghamshire

Stay in a stylish lodge in north Nottinghamshire, and step back in time with a visit to a 1930s time capsule and a historic ducal estate.

Open the door to Mr Straw’s House in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, and step into a perfectly preserved 1930s time capsule; a family home which houses thousands of items from the time, which have been carefully cared for over the decades in this quirky National Trust property.

Stay down the road in one of the new lodges on site at Ye Olde Bell Hotel, which features hand carved oak stair cases, tartan soft furnishings and all the modern comforts you’d expect. Dine onsite in the AA Rosette awarded restaurant at the hotel, and the next day pay a visit to Thoresby Courtyard on Thoresby Estate, where you can visit a museum, art gallery, independent shops and a cafe.
