Summon your inner book worm and find wordy stimulation at venues across Bristol for 'Unputdownable'.
From William Wordsworth to Daniel Defoe, wandering through Bristol’s streets, it’s easy to see how writers have been inspired by this beautiful and diverse city. Plan a break to Bristol to see where artists and authors found their stimulus or if you’re in the city from 19-28 October, join a themed celebration of the creative word with Bristol Festival of Literature.
Now in its 8th year, the festival holds wordy events throughout the year, culminating in a full programme in October at various locations across the city. Authors, writers, publishers, readers, listeners and performers are invited to come together and be part of the story. Last year featured writers’ workshops, expert talks, ‘Word Karaoke’, flash slams, live literature, book stalls and music. From sci-fi to comedy to horror or highbrow, there’s something to tickle everyone’s literary fancy.
