October events: Be part of the story at Bristol Festival of Literature

Summon your inner book worm and find wordy stimulation at venues across Bristol.

Wandering through Bristol's streets, it's easy to see how writers - from William Wordsworth to Daniel Defoe - have been inspired by this beautiful and diverse city. Plan a break to Bristol between 17 and 27 October to join a themed celebration of the creative word at the Bristol Festival of Literature.

Now in its 8th year, the festival holds wordy events throughout the year, culminating in a full programme in October at various locations across the city. Authors, writers, publishers, readers, listeners and performers are invited to come together and be part of the story. Featuring writers’ workshops, expert talks, book fairs and live literature, with everything from sci-fi or comedy to horror or highbrow, there’s something to tickle everyone’s literary fancy.
