The Castle is a medieval fortification, built on the site that gave the city of Newcastle its name. 

It dates back over 1,800 years and reveals the story of how Newcastle began, the reason the city got its name and allows groups to walk in the footsteps of the people who lived and died in the shadow of Newcastle Castle. 

Groups can be greeted by a knight on horseback and medieval foot soldiers before being taken on a tour led by costumed guides. Medieval food demonstrations can be enjoyed alongside live music whilst guests can try on armour, handle weapons and watch the knights in battle. After climbing the stairs to the top, guests can experience incredible 360° views of the city.

Home to the Duke of Northumberland’s family for over 700 years, Alnwick Castle can be found 50 minutes north of Newcastle. 

One of Britain’s most iconic castles, Alnwick famously doubled as Hogwarts School of Magic in the first two Harry Potter films.

Groups can take part in private team-building activities, guided tours, archery sessions or even Quidditch training.  

In the gardens of Alnwick Castle, groups will find the Grand Cascade, an incredible water feature which is said to be the largest of its kind in the UK. Guests can also dine 18-metres above ground in  a spectacular wooden treehouse.

Treat groups to a guided tour of the world-famous Beamish open-air museum in County Durham. 

The museum tells the story of life in the North East of England during the 1820s, 1900s and 1940s.

Built on the orders of Hadrian after he became Roman Emperor, this UNESCO World Heritage site is one of Europe’s most important Roman archaeological settings, with live excavations taking place every year.

Groups can visit the Roman Army Museum, located next to one of the most complete sections of Hadrian’s Wall. The museum uses stunning 3D technology in a specially designed film theatre and interactive displays throughout to enable visitors to understand what life was like for soldiers on this northern frontier.
