Get ready for Tour de Yorkshire

After the huge success of the Yorkshire Grand Départ last year, the early May Bank Holiday weekend sees another major cycling event whizz through England’s North East. Here are some of the key holiday locations that feature on the route...

Stage one...

Tour De Yorkshire takes place from May 1 to 3, with stage one departing from the seaside town of Bridlington, making its way through the heather-smothered North York Moors towards the 17th-century seaside resort of Scarborough.

Stage two...

Stage two sees Lycra-clad competitors race off from Selby Abbey to York via the timeless rural landscapes of the Yorkshire Wolds. There’ll also be a dedicated women’s event in York on the same day.

Stage three...

The final stage sets off from Wakefield, with riders pedalling through iconic locations such as Haworth Village – home to the Brontë sisters – as they make their way to Leeds which will also host the Rugby World Cup in September.
