The Mailbox, so named for its former use as a Royal Mail sorting office, is a giant red block of cool overlooking Birmingham's rapidly-changing city centre. Towering alongside the city's other modern icon, The Cube, The Mailbox plays home to a host of international luxury retailers including Harvey Nichols and Emporio Armani. There's no shortage of dining options for the weary shopper: 16, in fact. It's even home to the BBC.

Opening in 1998, The Mailbox has quickly become a favourite for locals and tourists, and is often home to exciting events. Should day turn quickly to night, as it easily can, then Ramada and Malmaison have hotels at The Mailbox ready to let your luxuriant shopping experience continue.
