Visit a cinematic favourite at Eastnor

Ledbury, Herefordshire

Eastnor’s typical castle architecture has made it the star of many a movie and TV programme over the years.

Eastnor was built in the 19th century as a ‘mock’ castle complete with battlements, parapets, watch towers and enclosed keep. Today it’s Grade I listed and you can nose round the lavish interiors. Look out for the medieval armour, fine art and a gothic drawing room designed by AWN Pugin, all brought alive by knowledgeable room stewards.

Outside, you can follow the tree trail or lakeside and woodland walk before picking a spot to picnic. Kids can run riot in the Knight’s Maze, adventure playground, Burma Bridge treetop walkway and turret slide.
