Stretch those legs on this picturesque countryside walk along the historic sights of Hadrian’s Wall.
Some of the finest scenery along the whole of the Hadrian's Wall Path National Trail is to be found near Housesteads Roman Fort. Head west and follow the Wall as it swoops up and down the undulating hills.
As you walk 3km you'll pass Crag Lough with its sheer cliffs dropping down to water below. A little further along is the iconic Sycamore Gap, made famous when it featured in Kevin Costner's Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.
Stop for a picnic, enjoy the views and catch your breath. The effort is worthwhile for the stunning and dramatic landscapes and fascinating archaeology.
