Few things can bring about more delirious joy than a little box with a sparkly ring inside (except maybe two little boxes with sparkly rings inside), and for centuries Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter has been helping spread that joy.

With the Quarter’s first recorded goldsmith dating right back to 1553, it’s not surprising that the area has established a world-famous reputation for all that glitters. This legacy of excellence carries with it an incredibly rich history just begging to be discovered and explored.

Considering the value we place on our rings, necklaces, brooches and breastpins, this museum is your chance to find out the time-honoured ways in which they’re made. With original workshops dating back to the turn of the last century, live demonstrations of items being made and the museum shop full of tempting items, you’ll really be able to revel in shiny provenance and splendour.
