This isn’t just an art gallery in Scarborough, but a place that celebrates all aspects that make the town what it is.

As well as works by local artists, the paintings, photographs and exhibitions give you a glimpse into the town’s past, all housed in an imposing Italianate villa in Scarborough’s historic Crescent Gardens.

There’s a mix of touring and permanent shows, where pieces by Atkinson Grimshaw sit alongside cultural check points, including old railway posters that once advertised Scarborough’s popularity as a seaside resort.

Even if you’re not an art aficionado, stop by – the staff here will be more than happy to give you an introduction to this fascinating gallery.
