Pick up traditional rural skills on a Shropshire working farm

Acton Scott, Shropshire

Ever wanted to rear pigs, make cider or preserve fruits? Take a traditional skills workshop at Acton Scott to learn how to live the ‘the good life’.

The traditional skills workshops at Acton Scott Historic Working Farm run throughout the summer months.

The courses cover everything from keeping pigs for pork and bacon and the craft of beekeeping, through to introduction to bread making and how to make a game pie with Shrewsbury sauce – a local specialty dish.

The course tutors all have years of experience working and honing their traditional rural skills in Shropshire and are enthusiastic about sharing their specific interests and knowledge to their students.

On some workshops, you’ll even be able to take home the fruits of your labour at the end of the day.
