Explore Lancashire's great coastline

Fleetwood, Lancashire

With its stunning sunsets, wonderful wildlife and infinite skies, Morecambe Bay is a photographer’s dream.

Morecambe Bay is big, wild and full of surprises, with infinite skies and vast potential for spending time in the great outdoors on an activity holiday.

Explore the Bay's wildlife by boat with Atlas Sailing, looking out for dolphins, seals and birdlife such as oystercatchers and curlews. Take to the helm yourself or sit back and let Andy and his team do all the work.

BBC Autumn Watch has twice been broadcast from RSPB Leighton Moss on the edge of Morecambe Bay with the reserve’s resident otters becoming a firm favourite with viewers. So even if you prefer to keep your feet firmly on dry land there is still plenty to see and do.

If it’s a walking holiday you’re after, take a springtime guided walk with one of Leighton Moss’s knowledgeable volunteers, listening out for bitterns booming in the reed beds and butterflies flitting along the reserve’s walking trails.
