Kayak the River Dart

Tuckenhay, Devon

Have some family water fun in South Devon this summer.

The River Dart located on Dartmoor has a strong claim to have some of the best canoeing and kayaking in the UK. The claim is based on both its location - the ancient river tumbles down from the Dartmoor Moors through the river woodland to the sea at Totness, and its variety.

The kayaking ranges from Grade 5 (the most challeging) white water for advanced kayakers on the Upper Dart, to gentle scenic touring waters down in the tidal waters near the sea. It’s just up to you to decide how much you want your heart to race, and how wet you want your hair to get.

Canoe Adventures work from beside the Maltsters Arms at Tuckenhay and offer all range of adventures including the popular steersman guided 12-seat Voyager canoes. Book your seats on a family or a moonlight trip, or a whole canoe for a special occasion.
