Give your taste buds a treat at the Furleigh Estate vineyard

Bridport, Dorset

Explore the peace and tranquillity of the Furleigh Estate vineyard, before getting down to the real business of testing out the wines for yourself.

The 85 acres of Furleigh Estate are teaming with wildlife: buzzards fly overhead, deer, pheasants and partridge flit freely between the vines, and heron and geese are regularly spotted loitering around the lake. But don’t let this idyllic scene distract you from the real purpose of this place: wine.

This former dairy farm has been transformed into a modern winery with 22,000 vines grown on its south-facing slopes. On a Furleigh Estate tour, you’re given the chance to see the results for yourself; after watching how the estate’s Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meurnier are produced via a gentle pressing process, it’s time for the best bit: a tasting session led by one of the in-house experts. Cheers.
