Get chilled at the Cold War Exhibition at RAF Museum Cosford

Cosford, Shropshire

The National Cold War Exhibition is the only place in the UK where you can see Britain’s V Bombers: the Vulcan, Victor and Valiant.

As you look round the National Cold War Exhibition it’s easy to forget just how close we all came to the Armageddon of nuclear war. Housed in a landmark building with 18 aircraft, military transport, missiles, memorabilia and interactive kiosks, the exhibition reflects the social, cultural and political history of the Cold War era.

A number of aircraft are suspended in flying attitudes including a Dakota, Canberra, Meteor, Lightning and Javelin. Visitors can get close from an elevated viewing gallery. Packed with hands-on excitement, visiting the museum is the easy way to answer all those questions about how aircraft stay up in the air.

There is plenty of fun for kids of all ages - the advanced Black Hawk flight simulator is a great way to get an instant flying experience, whilst the '4D Experience' offers animated visuals, dynamic seat movements, water spray, leg ticklers and smoke effects.
