Forage tasty mushrooms for your dinner at Fungi Foray

New Forest, Hampshire

Get an insight into the wonderful world of mushrooms, and find out what you can pick, and what you should avoid.

If you go down to the woods today…well, for starters, you probably won’t know what mushrooms to pick. It’s a common problem in this part of England, where food grows wild on the forest floor, but one that Fungi Foray promises to solve with its autumn tours.

You might not cover all 2,000 species of mushroom on your half day of New Forest foraging, but after a few hours of instruction from your bushcraft guide, you’ll definitely be able to tell your “chicken in the woods” from your “lawyers wig”. A must-do for any adventurous chef with a taste for the outdoors.
