Forage for fungi in Sherwood Pines Forest Park

Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire

Plunge the depths of the Sherwood Forest and discover penny bun mushrooms and oyster fungus at their best.

A fungi foray is the perfect tonic for a wet autumn day. The wetter the better for mushrooms as you go deep in the forest with expert Patrick Harding as he demonstrates how to find and identify the many varieties of fungi.

Foray into the forest to learn about edible and non-edible fungi, ancient medicinal uses, folklore and cooking tips.

Take those cooking tips back to the kitchen of your nearby Forest Holidays log cabin nestled in to the forest landscape with woodland views.

If the children still need to burn off some energy from their exploration there are life-sized mushrooms to explore in the Mushroom Village set amongst the forest.
