Ever wanted to go on a rocket ride through space, or a journey to the bottom of the sea? Curious minds can do just that in one of Liverpool’s most innovative museums, which has been walking people through the world’s nooks,crannies and vast expanses since the 1860s.

Head back to the prehistoric era and compare your height with a dinosaur’s, or get nose-to-nose with a colony of leaf cutter ants before going to infinity and beyond in the Planetarium. Oh, and if you’re keen on creepy crawlies, keep an eye out for Avril the giant spider, who hangs around in the Bug House…
