Take one historic town, combine it with its food culture, mix in local chefs and producers and you get the Ludlow Food Festival.
Held each September in the grounds of Ludlow Castle, the Ludlow Food Festival is one of the UK’s premier food festivals, showcasing the very best local food and drink producers from Shropshire and the Welsh borders. Within the Castle walls you’ll be able to see great demonstrations and talks (perhaps from a well known TV chef or two) take part in a workshop or masterclass, or you may just like to pick up a tasty morsel or two (or three!) from the 130-or-so exhibitors.
The festival atmosphere spills out across Ludlow’s historic town centre and there is no end of ‘foody’ related events and activities taking place over all three days, including the hotly contested Ludlow Sausage Trail, Ale Trail and the most coveted of all, the Festival Loaf Trail. So whatever your budget or taste, there is something to please every pocket …and stomach of course!
