Enjoy a family day out at Wentworth Castle & Gardens

Barnsley, South Yorkshire

Wentworth Castle and Stainborough Park houses some of the earliest gothic follies in the country.

Garden lovers, history buffs and family visitors will delight in the sights of romantic follies, tranquil gardens and exquisite collections of Rhododendrons, Camellias and Magnolias.

After 10 years the restoration of this fragile Victorian Conservatory is now complete. See this iconic glasshouse gradually come back to life over the summer months.

Let the little ones run wild, as they storm the castle to find the dragon, run around a 400 year old tree, roll down the hill in front of the Corinthian Temple, make daisy chains on the lawns, play hide and seek in the maze-like Union Jack Garden or enjoy close up views of the herds of red and fallow deer.

Wentworth Castle Gardens are now reopen following the COVID-19 lockdown, but visitors must pre-book tickets in advance. Please visit the website below for booking availability and restrictions before travelling.
