'Encounters' is an internationally-renowned film festival held annually in Bristol, which showcases the work of short and animated film talent.
Encounters Short Film and Animation Festival is famous for being one of the world's best-known showcases and meeting points for international short and animated film talent.
The festival takes place each year with events and screenings spread across two cultural venues – the Arnolfini Gallery and Watershed Cinema, set on Bristol’s vibrant harbourside.
Here you can catch works by established and well-loved filmmakers, including the Bristol-based Aaardman Animations, producers of ‘Wallace and Gromit’, as well as the work of lesser-known up and coming animators and filmmakers.
‘Encounters’ is also the gateway to the BAFTAs and the Cartoon d’Or, two of the world’s most prestigious short film and animation awards.
