Electric Eel on The Broads

Ludham, Norfolk

Explore nature reserves on the Norfolk Broads.

A trip onboard the Electric Eel boat may be more Wind and the Willows than Moby Dick, but this gentle pace is really the only way to experience the Norfolk Broads. Because this Edwardian-style electric boat’s gentle pace is perfect for infiltrating the country’s largest protected wetlands in silent, environmentally friendly style.

As the Eel takes you through the dykes of the How Hill Nature Reserve, you’ll have full opportunity to soak up the impressive marshland scenery and spot the area’s rare wildlife. You and your fellow passengers will be able to see a wide variety of birds, dragonflies, marsh harriers, and swallowtail butterflies. If you miss anything, an experienced guide will be on hand to point out any rare plant species and wildlife, as well as talk you through the full range of habitats that make up the area.

A trip aboard the Electric Eel is all about slowing down and enjoying life. Remember to take a moment to prepare yourself before stepping back on dry land and entering the real world again. It can suddenly seem rather hectic.
