Try your hand at Shove ha’penny, bar billiards and sample some really fine real ale in Shropshire’s brewing capital.
The Castle Hotel is in the very heart of Bishop’s Castle - Shropshire’s brewing capital - so it should come as no surprise to find it has three bars and a beer garden. Established in 1719, one of its first landlords was Clive of India.
Set in the South Shropshire Hills, surrounded on all sides by an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this 18th century coaching inn offers some panoramic views, great food, fabulous gardens and one of the finest selections of real ales in the land. If you find yourself in need of some accommodation after trying their beers they also provide some decidedly comfortable and well-equipped bedrooms!
