Explore Leicestershire’s beautiful waterways at Foxton Locks

Market Harborough, Leicestershire

Enjoy summer walks past the colourful narrowboats and along the unique waterways surrounded by Leicestershire’s picturesque countryside.

Foxton Locks consist of ten canal locks consisting of two "staircases" each of five locks, the largest in England. Spend a day here and watch the narrowboats work their way through the locks. Meander along the miles of canal towpaths and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of Leicestershire's countryside.

Pay a visit The Bolierhouse and experience its unique interactive exhibition, where you’ll be transported back in time to see what life was like working and living along the canal in the 19th century, and using your smart phone or tablet, can recreate the famous boat lift using virtual reality.
